Dalahousie

DALAHOUSIE

So much effort to get to Dalhousie, proportional to disappointment. Too bad, because the landscapes that I see is great. The town is around 2000 meters. The village is located about 1 km upstream of the bus station. A scenic walk on the ridge, amid conifers, winds along a balcony with superb views on the Chamba Valley. But, in this season, the climate is humid and foggy. I do not see other foreigners besides me. There are only (a few) Indian tourists. I sleep at Goher Hotel, 200 rupees, just one night. The next day, at 9:30 am, I take a local bus that goes directly to Amritsar, 110 rupees. It stops also in Pathankot, at lunch. I buy some samosas from a street vendor which will burn my stomach and my bowels for hours
